Gretel Tippett: Australian Netballer
What is your favourite feature of your body and why?
I know that if I am smiling or laughing I'm at my happiest. I live for a good belly laugh so I think it would have to be my smile. In saying that, I try so hard to get every bit of energy out of my body on a daily basis so I can be my best on the netball court so I am very grateful for what my body does for me and I have to love a lots of features for that.
Obviously as a professional athlete, you take care of your physical health, but what are some things you do to take care of your mental heath?
I truly believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. I use the time that I am walking my puppy winnie of a morning either before or after training to totally switch off and try and not think about anything except what I am doing right then and there and just keep let my mind be still. I find this really helps set me up for the rest of the day in thinking more clearly. I am also a member of the Oprah and Deepak Chopra meditation series, dad got it as a Christmas present for me and my brothers. Its just a little app on my phone that I try and listen to once a day. They are just 20 minutes and if I manage to fit it in before our afternoon training session I find it makes a huge difference to my mood and training.
What routines do you have in place to help you achieve glowing skin?
Thanks to Maddy who is helping me, I came to her as my new years resolution at the beginning of the year was to focus on my skin. I find it hard to manage break outs when we are continuously sweating but Maddy has helped me start with the skinstitut lactic acid wash morning and night followed by biologi Bd serum and I love love love it! It's done wonders for my skin already. I am also trying to fit in more time for micro facials.
Which feature of yours do you feel has become even more beautiful with age?
The lines I'm beginning to get around my eyes from smiling.
When do you feel most confident? (ie wearing makeup, in a dress etc?)
I live in active wear, it takes up 70% of my wardrobe
